As mentioned in “About Us”, “The Evolution of a 50-year business”, when my dad couldn’t find great technicians to work on our customer’s vehicles, he would find young men and offer them apprentice positions while they went to one of the local community colleges to get the basics. Then, continue to train them to be the best in the industry. With the help of my top technician, John Hilton we have continued that tradition, and hope to see young women get involved in the technical side too. This has given us wonderful young techs - raised in our culture of offering peace of mind to our customers.
Our service advisors, Angie and Bo, take pride in doing their very best to get thorough information. As such, they work with our customers to be as specific as possible about their vehicle’s problems. Like a doctor, we need to hear all the symptoms to help in making an accurate diagnosis. By working together, it lessens the chance of making another trip to the shop. Occasionally, your vehicle may have a computer related intermittent problem. With all the specifics, it may be possible to find the problem without the vehicle “acting up”. If not, we’ll ask you to work with us to get the problem solved and it maybe a time that we’ll ask you to leave the vehicle for more than a day.
As our techs check out a customer’s vehicle, they will prioritize the needs; noting what needs to be done today and what can wait for three to six months. We keep in mind that most of us live on a budget! There are times that we will help a customer to realize that it is time for a new or different vehicle… this one just isn’t worth the money to repair it.
This process has allowed the Dakota-K culture of making our customers our priority remain viable over these many years. Exactly what does that mean? It means an understanding that a dishonest sale today eventually means lost reputation and business tomorrow!
Our repair process and cloud-based software allow our techs to diagnose the vehicle needs, take pictures of the problems, at least those that are not electronic in nature and send you VIA text or email the inspection results for your review. This follows with a phone call to discuss the recommendations for repair and pricing. When applicable, you will see exactly what you are authorizing and why it is needed. Of course, we will always phone if that is your preference.
Rounding this out, our free pick-up and delivery service and loaner vehicles create convenience. If you need towing or a service call, we offer that, too. Our service is complete, offering everything from a tire repair to major engine repair. And, of course, if new tires are needed, we are here to help with that too.
